Bio:

He’s the man! Darrius is the male figure of the drastically different trio. Prince Darrius was second born in the lineage of Helliovantas. King Jarreth and Queen Margarette already had Antony as the heir, so little was expected of Darrius giving him more freedoms than Prince Antony. Granted Darrius did not leave his kingdom but spent his time fraternizing with the baker and causing mischief in Arc Anise. He was often picked on by his older brother for having more of his mother’s features and the freedom to be lazy. But within him lies the courage of a cornered viper and at times a heart of a poet.

You do not know how special Darrius is and the strength he finds in himself and in his friends. He is the romantic warrior, the foundation of their courage, the tie at which binds Reinna and Belladonna in the beginning of their journey. Dee left Darrius’s role out of the Tainted Blood Prophecy for good reason as he may be the key to saving Ithicca.

But I am getting ahead of myself. I paint Darrius as a naive second son because I wanted him to be the man of the people, the king that had to work for the love of his people. Antony followed suite from the beginning, bred for the role. Darrius was what he wanted to be, when he wanted to be it. And when he stands up to Sabastein to take the throne, he does it for his people and his family. Not because he is entitled to be the rightful heir.

Please don’t think I made him perfect, that would be too boring. Darrius has to struggle through this whole journey testing his morals and fight the growing addiction of magic and the guilt of Antony’s murder. He runs away from his feelings and problems and drinks like a fish when he is burden with them. To become the man prophesized, Prince Darrius will constantly be tested by Lysander’s influence. Prince Darrius takes his role in the Tainted Blood Prophecy seriously and strives to work with destiny, rather than fight it.
